The God Who is Strong Enough for Me.

“Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.” – Psalm 147:5

I don’t know about you, but there are times in my life when I feel like I’m barely holding things together. There are days when things don’t go as planned… when stress builds up… when relationships feel heavy… and honestly, I just feel tired. Not just physically—but deep down. And in those moments, it’s easy to start thinking that everything depends on me.

But then I come to Psalm 147—and it’s like God gently reminds me:
“Tom, you’re not the one holding everything together—I am.”

When I Look Up, I’m Reminded

Psalm 147 says that God counts the number of the stars and calls them all by name. Every time I stop and think about that, it humbles me. Because if God knows every star—something I can’t even begin to count—then He definitely knows me. He knows exactly where I’m at. He knows what I’m carrying. He hasn’t missed a single detail of my life.

And that reminds me… I can trust Him.

When I Feel Broken, He Steps In

One of my favorite parts of this chapter is verse 3: “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” I love that because it’s real. God isn’t just powerful “out there” in the universe—He’s personal right here in my life.

There have been moments where I didn’t have the answers… where I felt discouraged… where I didn’t even know what to pray.

And yet, God met me there.

Not with condemnation.
Not with distance.
But with healing.

That’s the kind of power God has—the power to restore a heart that feels worn down.
